As part of a custom international education program through the UC San Diego English Language Institute (ELI), Division of Extended Studies, International Programs, students from Kobe Ryukoku High School in Japan will participate in an immersive STEM Innovation & Entrepreneurism experience at UC San Diego.

Students will learn the AMPLIFIED! methodology and apply the HI × AI Infinity Loop to real challenges. They will use Human Insights to observe, question, interpret, and make judgments, then work with Artificial Intelligence to expand research, challenge assumptions, explore possibilities, and develop ideas.

The experience will move students from identifying and framing meaningful problems into Design Thinking, where they will generate, develop, prototype, and communicate potential solutions. The program will emphasize active learning, creative confidence, and the responsible use of AI as a tool for amplifying—not replacing—human thinking.

The session will also give students an opportunity to experience how creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and AI can work together in a university learning environment, while supporting UC San Diego’s broader international education mission and its engagement with students from Japan.
