SUMMARY:AMPLIFIED! Opportunity Framing
DESCRIPTION:Great ideas often fail before they begin—not because the solution is weak\, but because the opportunity was never clearly understood. \nAMPLIFIED! will return to The Basement at UC San Diego for an interactive workshop designed to help entrepreneurs\, innovators\, and emerging founders slow down just enough to ask a better question: What opportunity are we really trying to pursue? \nParticipants will apply the HI × AI Infinity Loop to examine assumptions\, expand their understanding of a challenge\, explore alternative perspectives\, and sharpen the direction of their work before moving too quickly into execution. Human Insights will establish context\, judgment\, and meaning\, while Artificial Intelligence will help participants research\, challenge\, compare\, and extend their thinking. \nThe session will move participants through a practical sequence of identifying\, exploring\, evaluating\, and accelerating opportunity framing. Rather than using AI simply to generate answers\, participants will learn how to use it to improve the quality of the questions they ask and the decisions they make. \nThis workshop also continues an ongoing relationship between AMPLIFIED! and The Basement at UC San Diego. Previous AMPLIFIED! sessions at The Basement have brought together international students\, researchers\, and faculty to explore problem framing\, Design Thinking\, and HI × AI in practice. The October 2 session will extend that work into entrepreneurship and opportunity development—helping participants use AI with greater intention before committing time\, resources\, and energy to a solution. \nThe goal is simple: leave with a clearer opportunity\, stronger reasoning\, and a more focused path forward.

SUMMARY:AMPLIFIED! Opportunity Framing
DESCRIPTION:AMPLIFIED! will return to the UC San Diego Rady School of Management for another collaboration with Teaching Professor Helen Wang and her MGT 121A: Innovation to Market students. \nThe workshop will focus on a critical challenge for entrepreneurs: framing the right opportunity before investing too heavily in a solution. Students will bring the startup concepts and market opportunities they are already developing in class and use the HI × AI Infinity Loop to challenge assumptions\, expand their understanding of customers and context\, explore alternative perspectives\, and sharpen the direction of their work. \nHuman Insights will provide the experience\, judgment\, creativity\, and context needed to decide what matters. Artificial Intelligence will help students research\, compare\, question\, and extend their thinking. Together\, HI × AI will give students a structured way to improve the quality of their opportunity framing before moving further into product development and market validation. \nThe session continues an ongoing relationship between AMPLIFIED!\, the Rady School of Management\, and The Basement at UC San Diego. Previous work with Professor Wang’s students has used AMPLIFIED! to strengthen problem statements\, evaluate startup ideas\, and explore market fit. This return engagement will build on that experience by giving students another practical application of HI × AI within the entrepreneurial process. \nThe goal is for students to leave with a clearer opportunity\, stronger assumptions to test\, and greater confidence about where to focus their next round of research and development.

SUMMARY:Innovate@UCLA Keynote: AMPLIFIED! at Work—How HI × AI Changes the Way We Think\, Decide\, Create\, and Work
DESCRIPTION:Artificial Intelligence is changing what people can do. The greater opportunity is changing how people work with it. \nPresented at Innovate@UCLA for approximately 150 of Los Angeles’ leading innovators\, this keynote introduces AMPLIFIED! as a practical way to work with AI while keeping human judgment\, experience\, creativity\, and responsibility at the center. \nKevin Popovic explores the difference between simply using AI and deliberately combining Human Insights × Artificial Intelligence to improve the work itself. Through the HI × AI Loop\, attendees will see how people can establish direction\, use AI to expand possibilities\, evaluate what matters\, and guide the technology toward stronger outcomes. \nThe keynote moves beyond tools\, prompts\, and automation to a more consequential question: \nHow can AI help people become better at the work only people can lead? \nAttendees will explore: \n\nWhy adopting AI does not automatically create innovation.\nWhere human judgment\, context\, and experience remain essential.\nHow HI × AI can improve thinking\, decision-making\, creativity\, and work.\nWhy the quality of the interaction shapes the quality of the outcome.\nWhat innovators can do differently as AI becomes increasingly embedded in organizations.\n\nAMPLIFIED! positions AI not as a substitute for human capability\, but as a means of strengthening it—helping people think more expansively\, work more effectively\, and create greater value.

SUMMARY:Applied AI Workflow Transformation Capstone
DESCRIPTION:The Applied AI Workflow Transformation Capstone will give AAA participants an opportunity to move beyond AI awareness and experimentation into applied organizational change. \nDelivered through UC San Diego Extended Studies as part of the broader AAA University AI Certification Program\, the 40-hour live-online experience will guide participants through the process of identifying real work that could be improved with AI and developing practical\, evidence-informed approaches for doing so. \nParticipants will use Human Insights (HI) × Artificial Intelligence (AI) to examine current workflows\, surface friction and opportunity\, rethink how tasks and decisions are performed\, and design improved ways of working. The course will emphasize the role of human judgment throughout the process\, including where people must establish direction\, evaluate AI output\, manage risk\, and remain accountable for outcomes. \nThe capstone will also address the organizational realities that determine whether AI-enabled work succeeds in practice: adoption\, capability\, workflow design\, testing\, measurement\, and implementation. \nRather than working on hypothetical exercises\, participants will apply the process to meaningful opportunities from their own work at AAA. The goal is to leave the course with a clearer understanding of how AI can improve a real workflow\, a tested direction for moving forward\, and the ability to apply the same HI × AI approach to future challenges. \nThis capstone extends AMPLIFIED!’s ongoing work with AAA—from helping managers recognize opportunities for improvement to equipping participants to redesign and implement AI-supported work in practice.
